How granular security functions in the ediscovery software of Vaultastic enable more robust security and deliver more control.
Background
Vaultastic eases data management by combining active email data and historical data archives into a central cloud repository.Â
A rich set of cloud and data services support rapid and accurate discovery of email data from this central repository.
The access to the ediscovery software application is controlled based on the user roles – viz self-service to allow the operators to search within their archives and full access to enable the auditors to search across vaults.
The user now has a choice of actions to perform on the ediscovery results, viz. export, forward emails, download email, reply to the emails, restore emails and upload to ideolve for deeper collaboration.
Before this release:
Before this release, Vaultastic combined the security controls (e.g., enable forward and the reply was one control), limiting the number of use cases that Vaultastic can service with these controls.
Vaultastic v4.5.0.1 with granular security controls in the ediscovery software:
Vaultastic 4.5.0.1 has made these options granular to give you more control over functions possible on the ediscovery results.Â
You now have individual security controls for Reply, Forward, Restore, Download, Export and Upload to Ideolve features.Â
These granular security controls give you greater flexibility and control when assigning role-based access to the ediscovery software – self-service or complete (auditor) access.
Popular uses of granular security controls in the ediscovery software:
A more restrictive self-service access:Â
When end-users are given self-service access into Vaultastic to search for their older mail, you can only allow “view” rights or “view and restore” rights or “view, restore and download” rights.
Team supervision with sharing and collaboration:
Managers often need to oversee the team’s communication and share knowledge with other team members. You can give managers full access to a limited set of vaults with “forwarding” rights and “Upload to Ideolve” rights to help them share and collaborate on the search results.
Effective Compliance Audits:Â
Auditors typically have access to the vaults of all or selected sets of users. You can give auditors the “Upload to Ideolve” rights to help them share and collaborate on the search results.Â
