- 1. What are the options for billing frequency?02.02.18
We have simplified the entire consumption and billing process for our customers by moving to a pay per use model. In this model, you don't buy any resources upfront and instead go about using the service, grow or shrink as your workload changes and pay only for what you use at the end of the month. Learn more about how Pay Per Use works.
- 2. What happens to the data after the subscription period is over?21.11.16
Vaultastic (and all of Mithi's cloud products) are offered as SaaS solutions (now) with a Pay per use model.
In the pay per use payment agreement model, you are not bound by any contracts and you can freely reduce or grow your usage at any time and cancel at any time.
Our systems track your usage daily on all our services and generate a bill on the 1st of each month, aggregating your usage for the previous month. This accommodates growth/shrinkage in usage with a pro-rata of one day.
There are two triggers to ending your pay per use agreement with Mithi
- You cancel the services
- You don't pay the monthly bill within the stipulated period from the date of the invoice.
For point 1 above, the customer account and all associated data will be automatically marked for deletion and cleared during the scheduled data clean-up of our system.
For point 2 above, accounts enter a suspension period. The suspension period lasts for 30 days. During this 30-day period, the administrator won’t be able to perform any changes or onboard new users via the administration console, while the end-user functions will unaffected for the first 15 days, after which the end-users will also lose access to their accounts. After 30 days to mark the end of the full suspension period, the customer account and all associated data will be automatically marked for deletion and cleared during the scheduled data clean-up of our system.
This is an irreversible operation. To prevent this, please ensure that your account is reinstated before the end of the 30-day suspension period.
All this is documented in detail in our SLA.
- 3. What happens when I have setup archiving for all the licensed number of users?21.11.16
After Mithi has launched the Pay per Use payment agreement model for consumption of our cloud services, this question is no more valid. There is no pre-purchased licensed number of users.
We have simplified the entire consumption and billing process for our customers by moving to a pay per use model.
In this model, you don't buy any resources upfront and instead go about using the service, grow or shrink as your workload changes and pay only for what you use at the end of the month.

- 4. Which plan is appropriate for me?21.11.16
You can optimize costs by purchasing and mixing plans as per the roles of the user.
For a set of users, it may suffice to have a short term backup of all their email along with a self-service portal to help them find their email when required. This will make the users more productive and reduce the burden on the IT teams. For this set of users, the Continuity plan, which stores mail for one year, is ideal.
For another set of users, who work in the legal or finance department and their area of work falls under regulatory compliance, the Tracer plan is ideal. The Tracer plan supports the retention of email for up to 7 years.
The Durability plan preserves email for life and is the most appropriate to store the email of users, whose data is critical and timeless.
The Hold plan is a storage-based plan. Thus, the Hold plan is ideally suited to upload large volumes of legacy email data and have the email search ready at all times. Also, it is ideally suited to archive live email of users, whose email volume may not be very high. This helps optimize costs since the uptake on storage is slower.
All these plans are offered on a pay per use payment agreement. Learn more about how Pay Per Use works.
- 5. How can I upgrade my subscription Plan?21.11.16
In the pay per use payment agreement, you can freely move users amongst the plans, add new users, delete users, delete data, and our billing platform will track your usage on a daily basis, and finally bill you only for what you used in the month.
Hence, you are in full control of your consumption. The pro-rata for calculating the bill is daily.
- 6. Can I get access to my archived mail data, if I decide to cancel the service?21.11.16
Yes, sure you can.
Mithi is a custodian of your data and not the owner.
We recommend that before you cancel the service, you may download your data as PST files or a collection of EML files via the user vaults. Learn more here
Alternatively, if the data size is very large, you have the option of receiving this via a physical medium, the AWS snowball.
Please note that this process has billable elements in the form of export of data, services if you require and the use of the AWS snowball if required. The use of these resources is tracked by our billing system to be added to your monthly bill. Learn more about our pay per use billing model here.
Once you cancel the service, you will not be able to access your data, and the data will be marked for automatic deletion by our systems.
- 7. How do I maintain my license?27.03.17
You don't have to maintain or track licenses anymore.
We have simplified the entire consumption and billing process for our customers by moving to a pay per use model. - 10. What is the price for importing/uploading historical email data to Vaultastic?01.01.19
You can import historical mail data only for users subscribing to the HOLD plan.
Mithi provides access to a DIY portal to help you import data into these vaults. The price of migrating data into a HOLD vault has 2 components
- The price per GB of the HOLD storage itself.
- A one time cost of actually migrating the data using the Legacyflo mail migration tool from Mithi.
E.g. One HOLD user needs to import 15 GB of historical data. There will be a recurring monthly charge for 15 GB at the rate of the HOLD plan and a one-time migration charge for 15 GB.
All this is tracked during the month and added to the monthly bill in arrears as part of our pay per use payment agreement.
You can estimate the price of importing a certain volume of data using Legacyflo into Vaultastic HOLD by using Mithi's Simple pricing calculator. Enter the storage volume to be imported in the Vaultastic HOLD field and Legacyflo import field.
