  • 4. Which plan is appropriate for me?

If you want to use the Vaultastic archive to serve as a short term backup, reduce the load on IT and increase the efficiency of users to search for historical email data, then the CONTINUITY plan should suffice.

If you work in an industry when email archiving is a legal compliance or there are many cases of litigation, then the TRACER plan may be more appropriate.

The DURABILITY plan is the most appropriate when you want to store historical data with Vaultastic and retain mails forever.

The HOLD plan is suitable if you need to save mail for users who are no longer active.

Need a custom plan(s) based on a diffferent retention period, please contact us with your requirement and we are happy to assist.

  • 6. Can I get access to my archive mail data, if I decide to cancel the service?

Yes. Mithi is a custodian of your data and not the owner. Before cancelling the service, you may choose to download your data as PST files or a ZIP of EML files via the user vaults. Alternatively, if the data is very large, you have the option of receiving this via a physical medium, the AWS snowball. Please read more about the export options here.

  • 9. What is the pricing model for Vaultastic?

Vaultastic's pricing is based on a Fixed + Variable model. The fixed plans come at a price with some allowances and limits. The limits and allowances cover the volume of historical data to be imported, migration charges and export of data from the console. Any usage beyond these limits is billed on a prorata basis in arrears on the month end.

For active users of your enterprise, the Vaultastic licensing model is a per user license with retention period as the main critirion differentiating the various plans. So each user on your primary mail platform gets a corresponding Vault (Vaultastic account) to hold all the email of that user. You may choose between the 3 plans of Continuity, Tracer or Durability for that user. You can also mix plans to suit the role of the users.

For inactive users or ex-employees, Vaultastic provides a storage based licencing plan, HOLD, which retains mail of all your inactive users in a single vault, limited only to the amount of storage purchased for the HOLD plan.

  • 10. What is the price for importing/uploading historical email data to Vaultastic?

You can import historical mail data only for users subscribing to the TRACER, DURABILITY or HOLD plan. Mithi provides access to a DIY portal to help you import data into these vaults. For all the historical data that you upload into the vaults of Tracer or Durability users, you are charged at per GB per year as the holding price for upfront upload. For the HOLD plan you may upload any amount of historical data, limited only to your purchased storage volume for the HOLD plan.

In addition for every GB you import into any of the 3 plans, you are charged a one time migration cost of per GB to cover resource usage cost in copying, converting and indexing the data.

E.g. One DURABILITY user needs to import 15 GB of historical data. There will be a recurring annual charge for 15 GB at the rate of /GB/year and one time migration charges of 15 GB x per GB.

  • 11. How do you bill for the variable usage of the Vaultastic service?

If your usage on historical data import and export, crosses the limits specified in the fixed plans, you will receive a pro rata bill at the end of every month for the extra usage. The minimum time unit for computing the prorata usage is a day. Here are some examples to help you understand the billing model

Scenario 1: Billing for extra Export of data.

You have purchased 10 Tracer subscriptions and 20 Durability subscriptions on Jan 1st.

Each Tracer user is allowed upto of Export in a year, and each durability user is allowed upto in a year.

On Jan 17th, Ravi, a tracer user, exported 20 GB of data for the first time during the subscription period

So far the usage is within the 25 GB limit for Ravi. No extra usage during Jan, so no bill in Jan

On Feb 19th, Ravi, exported 10 GB of data for the second time during the subscription period

Now Ravi has exceeded his annual export limit of 25 GB by 5GB.

On feb 28th, a bill will be generated for 5GB x + taxes.

    No export activity in March

    No bill in March

On April 25th, Sumeet a Durability user, exported 50 GB of data (excess of 5 GB)

On April 26th, Shiela a Tracer user, exported 40 GB of data (excess of 15 GB)

On April 26th, Ravi again exported 8 GB of data

On April 30th, a bill will be generated for (5GB+15GB+8GB) x + taxes

Scenario 2: Billing for migration/importing of data into Vaultastic.

You have purchased 20 Durability subscriptions and a Hold subscription with 10 GB storage on Jan 1st.

Each Tracer or Durability user is charged for historical data on an annual recurring basis.

A one time data migration charge is applicable per GB of import to cover costs of resources to copy, convert, index etc

On Jan 15th, you import 7 GB into Suchita's Vault (a durability user). Charge for importing 7GB and holding 7GB for 15 days in this month

On Jan 18th, you import 15 GB into Rajan's vault (a durability user). Charge for importing 15GB and holding 15GB for 13 days in this month

    On Jan 31st, a bill will be genetared for (7GB x 15 days x (daily rate)for holding the extra data) + (15GB x 13 days x )+ (7+15 x for migrating the data)

    In Feb no migration done

On Feb 28th, a bill will be genetared for (22GB x 28 days x (daily rate)for holding the extra data)

On March 5th, you import 40 GB into Amit's vault (a tracer user). Charge for importing 40 GB and holding 40 GB data for 25 days of this month

On March 31st, a bill will be generated for (22GB x 31 days x (daily rate)for holding the extra data) + (40GB x 25 days x (daily rate)for holding the extra data) + (40 GB x for migrating the data)
